Piezomed fra W&H
Safe and effective surgical procedures
With the innovative surgical device Piezomed, W&H places all the advantages of innovative ultrasound technology at the surgeon's fingertips: Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art ultrasound technology, the user benefits from the highest level of accuracy when removing bone substance, whilst the surrounding soft tissue remains uninjured. This means not only efficient and safe working for the dentist, but also noticeable relief for the patient: less pain, quicker healing!
Dr. med. dent. Mario Kirste MSc, a specialist in implantology and oral surgery from Frankfurt (Oder), reports about the advantages of using the new Piezomed from W&H:
"Piezomed heralds the start of a new age in the use of piezo technology in dental surgery. An innovative range of intelligently designed working tips offers the perfect instrument for every treatment. For example, the specially developed, patent-pending design of the teeth of the new bone saw allows the most accurate incisions and as such allows two-dimensional preparation. Equipped with an efficient cooling concept, which rules out extreme, thermo-mechanical material stress, the user benefits from even safer processing of the operating field.
The automatic instrument detection function is a particular advantage of the new Piezomed. This not only facilitates operation but also increases application safety. In addition, this avoids the risk of overloading the instrument. Equipped with numerous, innovative functions and optimal power transmission, Piezomed sets new standards on the market.
I have been using this surgical device for around five months in my practice and am thoroughly convinced of its advantages. The unique cooling concept on the working attachments, or to be more precise the distance between the working tip and the water outlet, guarantees not only a superior workflow with the instruments, but also optimal cooling. The different performance parameters can be viewed at any time. The device saves the last selected settings and supports the surgeon's individual way of working with three individual operating modes: “Power”, “Basic” and “Smooth”.
The innovative saw design with coolant outlets on both sides close to where work is performed is a world first on the market. In this way, W&H is reemphasising that it is possible to implement performance parameters and extreme material stresses without technical problems. The result is clear to see.
At present, the number of dentists using rotating instruments is still considerably higher than the number of piezo users. Of the approximately 8,500 dentists working in implantology in Germany, only 1 in 4 has already integrated the piezo technology in day-to-day activities. In my opinion, Piezomed offers plenty of reasons to work even more intensively with this field in the future."
