Great views for dental practices
Whether clinicians are looking for extraoral or intraoral solutions – with Seethrough, W&H now offers a complete imaging portfolio consisting of five highly advanced products for all requirements and a software that sets new standards. We spoke to Valeria Ferrari, W&H Product director, to find out more about the motivation behind this step, the products included in the portfolio, and what sets them apart.
- W&H Product Director

Congratulations on the launching of the W&H imaging portfolio. What inspired you to take this step?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and the answer lies in one of our core areas: oral surgery. Our vision is to be the preferred partner for all oral surgery needs, offering a seamless ecosystem. Imaging was the natural next step because every successful treatment starts with crystalclear, high-quality X-rays. By incorporating imaging into our portfolio, we’re not just expanding our product range; we are enhancing the entire workflow by empowering practitioners to identify more accurate diagnoses.
The Seethrough portfolio includes five new products – can you give us an overview?
Of course! With Seethrough, we offer a complete range of X-ray solutions, covering both intraoral and extraoral X-ray diagnostics. In the extraoral segment, we proudly present two advanced CBCT models: Seethrough Max and Seethrough Flex. Our CBCTs are forward-looking solutions tailored to the diverse needs of dental professionals, providing high-quality panoramic and 3D imaging. Our intraoral portfolio includes a periapical arm, Seethrough Arm, and two reading systems: Seethrough Scan, a PSP scanner, and Seethrough Sensor, a digital sensor. The Seethrough Studio software unifies everything together by powerfully, streamlining daily workflows.
There are many imaging solutions on the market – what makes Seethrough standing out from the rest?
At the heart of Seethrough is a simple but powerful principle: different products for different needs, with one core in common. Our imaging solutions are built on five key pillars that set them apart. First, Seethrough products deliver image quality that rivals the best in the industry, ensuring every detail is captured with stunning clarity. Second, seamless integration into existing workflows enhances efficiency. Third, assisted functionalities such as motion correction, patient position adjustment, and guided acquisition. These features not only improve ease of use but also help to achieve optimal imaging results every time. The fourth pillar is connectivity. Through ioDent®, users benefit from online viewing, secure storage, and access to a maintenance and service dashboard. Last but not least, AI-driven tools of our trusted partner Eyes of AI, such as arch line generation, automatic nerve tracing, 3D volume alignment and tooth segmentation assist image analysis and provide unprecedented visual clarity, diagnostic accuracy and workflow efficiency. Together, these five pillars reflect our dedication to providing high-performance, user-centric solutions that meet the evolving needs of dental professionals.
If someone asked you why they should choose a W&H imaging device, what would your answer be?
I’d say that choosing a Seethrough imaging solution means staying at the forefront of innovation. We’re not just meeting today’s demands – we’re actively shaping the future of dental imaging by continuously investing in next-generation technologies. Our AI-powered features set new standards in diagnostic precision. With W&H, you get superior imaging quality, seamless integration, and a future-driven approach. Our solutions prioritise both clinical excellence and patient safety, delivering high-quality images with patient-safe doses for precise diagnostics without compromise.
You’ve mentioned that Seethrough Studio is a powerful software that brings everything together. How does it streamline daily workflows, and what are its key features?
Seethrough Studio perfectly balances ease of use with advanced customisation and includes advanced features. First, the Free-FOV regulation allows clinicians to adjust the FOV position and size on the scout image before capturing the final picture, thereby ensuring precise positioning and reducing unnecessary exposure. One of the highlights is our Metal Artifact Removal (MAR) technology, which restores image integrity. There’s also a correction algorithm to address motion artifacts in both 2D and 3D images, a standout feature in panoramic imaging. To further enhance usability, we’ve developed a patient position correction algorithm for 2D images, providing clinicians with peace of mind during use. The software fits into a variety of workflows, which is a huge plus. It also has a standard integrated implant planning tool that makes single implant cases easier, with upto-date implant libraries and visual aids to help clinicians explain treatment plans to patients. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, making examination selection easy.
What is your vision for the future of the W&H imaging portfolio?
Our motto, "People have priority," reflects our commitment to creating added value for clinicians, enabling them to provide patients high-quality services. And this is just the first step. We aim to continually integrate more products and services into the W&H imaging portfolio, harnessing the power of technology and artificial intelligence to support doctors, improve patient care, and enhance workflow efficiency. I've already seen the excitement in the eyes of those using our products, and I am truly convinced that we can continue to nurture that enthusiasm with future developments.
Thank you for your time and insights!
